Pharmaceutical name: Amlodipine Besylate, Valsartan
Pack: 1 pack (28 tabs (10/160 mg))
Amlodipine Besylate and Valsartan are the primary active ingredients found in Exforge. This combination of medications is an oral treatment used to manage high blood pressure and to prevent strokes, certain heart rhythm disorders, and kidney issues.
Amlodipine Besylate acts as a calcium channel blocker, while Valsartan functions as an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). Together, these medications work by relaxing and dilating blood vessels, which facilitates easier pumping of blood by the heart, thereby increasing oxygen and blood flow to the heart.
The dosage may differ based on the patient's condition, so it is recommended to take this medication following your doctor's instructions. Exforge is available in tablet form, to be taken orally with a full glass of water, and is typically advised to be taken once daily, either before or after meals. If you miss one or more doses, take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not exceed the dosage prescribed by your doctor, as an overdose of any medication can result in serious consequences. An overdose may lead to symptoms such as nausea, severe headache, vomiting, and various allergic reactions. In the event of an overdose, it is crucial to contact your doctor immediately.
